IF YOU ARE IN MARCHING BAND NO MATTER WHAT, GO TO THE BOTTOM AND FILL OUT THE GOOGLE FORM BY SUNDAY, JULY 26TH SO WE KNOW WHO IS STILL PARTICIPATING IN MARCHING BAND! If you like, you can pass that code along to grandma and grandpa and any other loved ones who want to see it. These forms are for anyone who may need to be absent from ANY part of band camp for reasons such as athletic or cheering practices, Hartford and/or Ohio State Fair participation. If you already signed up and sent in your marching band forms: Payment of $150 and the payment form is due by the first day of camp, August 10th! Squad leader day AND newbie day are being moved to the “first” day of camp SUNDAY AUGUST 9TH. Squad leaders will meet from 7:30 am -11:00 am and the newbies (anyone new to marching band) and squad leaders will meet from 12:30-3:30pm. Nothing is going on August 6th or 7th anymore as far as rehearsal goes. Squad leader day is 8:30am-1pm August 9th (Start in the HHS Band Room for both) Attendance is mandatory if you wish to be considered for squad leader candidacy.

A few things that are in the works also: squad leader postings and sharing of the band banquet video / photo montage. These people are squad leader candidates and may become full squad leaders at the conclusion of band camp. The Frost Band of the Hour is a place to make great music, to make lifelong friends, and to make a difference in the community. It includes buying the music, getting the drill, paying instructional staff, band shirt, and box lunch for Monday-Thursday of camp. Laura’s Drum Corps Videos corps experience includes 10 years of marching in the Connecticut Hurricanes, as captain in 2008 and 2009 and as a technician for the 2012 season. The former Drum Corps Videos corps member and marching band judge in me loves the marching and weapon work in this video. We have to work to keep our total numbers down. We wear masks, we will keep our distance.

I will not take kids up north unless I believe that we can keep them safe with an absolute minimum of risk. I did speak with them last week, and they assure me they are working as fast as they can. Here are five things you can do to help your team see the big pic picture, think more strategically and do their work with the end goal in mind. WE ARE GOING TO WORK HARD TO BE SAFE. I know that sounds heartless, but you have to understand that our activity was not going to be allowed at all. I know that this has been a long time, and that things need to be moved forward. We need to have the forms so we know if you are in band camp or not. 4. We have learned some things so far. I have had to bring two pairs of shoes. You will find these in a normal Drum Corps Videos set, however, Drum Corps Videos since the marching band, well, marches; they have to be clashed together and come in pairs. I would love to have people come visit and say hi, but due to COVID-19 we can’t really have visitors even come and watch.

Sad in many ways that in England we are not even 10% as patriotic as Americans. There are TWO ways to pay this year! They make me think we just might make it through the year. Might be a good idea on the days they have band to bring a pair of old shoes so they don’t have to have wet feet all day. We have showed good faith and all of you have been patient above and beyond what should be expected. There is no charge but, you must have a ticket and wear a mask properly to attend (mask over your nose and mouth). We will go over proper handling, sanitizing, and proper covid-style playing of all instrument types (we will be using the study from the University of Colorado completed on band instruments and COVID-19 as guidance). Marching Band & NYC Updates! We are closely monitoring updates from Rice, C-USA, and the scientific community regarding COVID-19. Native American Veterans march in a Color Guard in each Grand Entrance in all Pow Wows of the United States groups in which there are veterans available to participate. EVERYONE should complete our online “Intent to March” form.
